Final Orders

Pay attention maggots, for below lie the final details of Leprecon’s Wargames schedule , read on only ye of brave constitution:

Warhammer 40k, Saturday & Sunday, 1750 points. This year Leprecon hopes its 40k tournament will be bigger and better than last years was. To this effect the prize for this year is a fully painted 1000 point Ork army, which we all know is bigger and better than last years Space Marines. This army will go to the finest player in attendance (or at least the one who beats everyone else) so please come and try your hand, it’ll be good fun either way. Entry into the tournament is 20 Euro and includes a weekend ticket.

Warmachine and Hordes, Sunday, 35 points. Our local Dublin Pressganger will be running a one day 35 point Warmachine and Hordes tournament using the latest Mark II rules. The tournament format will be the new 2010 Steamroller rules and use the January 29th PDF for Hordes Mark II. We’re hoping for a decent number of players and some good ol’ fashioned competition in its best form: Giant killing machines vs. giant killing monstrosities. Entry into the tournament is 20 Euro and includes a weekend ticket.

Warhammer Ancient Battles: We’ll have a demo table of Warhammer Ancient Battles running throughout the weekend so drop by the table and have a go at it. It should be good fun and offers a fine opportunity to prove to your friends nto only how awesome Carthage really was but how if you were in charge you would have taken Rome. This event is free to play.

Battletech: We will have a member of the Catalyst Demo Team with a Battletech demo for people to play on Saturday so if you’re at all interested in mech combat on any scale you should give it a try and even if you’re not you should still give it a try. This event will be free to play.

Attention all Warmachine and Hordes types!

Due to the impending release of Warmachine Mark II and the field test rules for Hordes Mark II I am proud to announce that Leprecon will be running its Warmachine and Hordes tournament as Mark II. So now that I’ve made my big splashy announcement I’m sure any interested parties actually want to know the details of this here tournament:

The tournament will run all day on Sunday and be run by our lovely local Pressgangers. Entry into the tournament will be 20 Euro, which will include entry into the con for the weekend.

The points cost for the tournament is preliminarily set at 35 points (which is roughly 500 points in the Mark I rules) and it is currently set to be run as Steamroller barring any big announcement by Privateer Press of a new Mark II format.

Warhammer 40k Tournament Update

This year at Leprecon we will be running a two day Warhammer 40k tournament. The tournament will be 1750 points and will last six rounds, three rounds each day. The tournament will cost 20 Euro entry fee which includes entry to the con for the weekend.

The first place prize will be a fully painted army, specific army as yet to be determined but I’ll be sure to tell you when I know, and the second and third place prizes will be determined based on the number of players we’ve got. Basically, the more players that show up the nicer second adn third place prizes we’ll get.  So bring all your friends, beat them, and get an awesome prize for it!

That’s all the news for now on this front, but I’ll be sure to keep you informed of all the goings on, and as usual feel free to email me if you have any questions/requests.

They’re Games….about WAR!

Ah wargaming, truly the most noble of all man’s pursuits. There is no act finer than crushing your opponent underfoot, and no failure more humiliating than losing horribly to someone better than yourself. In aid of this great activity at Leprecon 31 we intend to bring victory to the few, and defeat to the masses. This year we plan on offering a bit of a diverse selection which is as follows:

We will have a two day Warhammer 40,000 tournament of an as yet undetermined point value. More information on this will be provided as we work out the details.

There will also be some variety of Hordes and/or Warmachine tournament. Once again, as we get details they will be reported to you.

In addition to these tournaments we will also be running various pick up and play games over the course of the weekend that will be more accessible to those of you who haven’t made the rather expensive investment (both in time and money) that a proper wargaming army so often necessitates.

If you happen to have an interesting wargame you would like to run at Leprecon (or maybe even an uninteresting one), or you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at Wargames@leprecon.info
